Thompson’s was opened in 1958 by RD Thompson Jr. underneath of his father’s general store in Worthington, West Virginia. A few years later, Thompson’s moved to its current location and began selling Ford tractors. About 20 years later, Junior’s son, Donny Thompson, joined the family operated business and began selling Appliances such as washers, dryers, ranges, and refridgerators. A short time later, Junior’s second son, Kim, also joined the family business. Thompson’s had expanded to selling Kioti tractors, a wide variety of Hardware, and quality Bedding. In the mid 1990’s, Kim’s son, Jacob Thompson, began working at Thompson’s in the lawn and garden department. In 1997, Thompson’s began selling Kubota Tractors and have been ever since. In the early 2000’s, Junior Thompson passed away, and soon after Donnie retired. The business is currently owned and operated by Jacob and Kim. Thompson’s has changed over the years, but our main priority has stayed the same which is to provide customers with the best service and best products.
